For bargain hunters, the Middle of Lidl can be a bit of a treasure trove.

And if you love nothing more than delving in to find weird and wonderful items in that part of the supermarket, you’ll likely want to keep on reading.

That’s because the budget retailer is bringing back its popular mystery boxes, which are filled with gems from its middle aisle.

The boxes first launched in August 2024 and contained everything from coffee machines, to ukuleles, slushie makers, massage guns, and more.

This year shoppers can also expect insulated flasks, noise cancelling headphones, exercise equipment, homeware, and Lid merch such as branded wellies.

But there is a bit of a catch, as you don’t know what you’ve got until you open the box.

One thing is for certain though, which is that the contents inside each box will be worth more than £100 in total.

What’s even better is that the boxes will only cost £20 each, with all proceeds being donated to the NSPCC to help children in the UK.

And there’s one more fun twist, as shiny ‘bonus item coupons’ have been randomly hidden in 150 of the boxes. This unlocks a surprise premium prize worth up to £100 which could include a rowing machine, an air fryer, a vacuum cleaner or a TV.

There are a total of 1,500 mystery boxes up for grabs this time around and they’ll be available from 10am on October 24.

In order to get your hands on one, you have to visit mysteryboxesbylidl.co.uk and you’ll have to be speedy as they’re only available while stock lasts and last year they sold out in under an hour.

Fans say the yoghurt pots are so good they’ve been ‘fighting’ over them with their families.

And in other supermarket news, the best place to do your Christmas food shopping was revealed by the Good Housekeeping Institute, who crowned Waitrose as the overall winner.

Asda was in second place and Aldi was named the best value option ahead of the festive period.
