Sorry soap fans, I’m here with even more news about Emmerdale and Coronation Street’s schedules for this week.

And you’ve probably guessed what it is already.

It certainly feels like the changes haven’t really stopped since the start of 2026. Days after the launch of the new soap ‘power hour’ in January, the broadcasting channel revealed Corrie and Emmerdale’s schedules would be impacted as a result of sports.

Given that we’re only in the middle of April, there have been an awful lot of schedule altercations for Corrie and Emmerdale so far this year – and it’s not over yet!

And once the Summer of Sports begins, there will be even more!

But, until then, here’s everything you need to know about when the ITV soaps are on this week, why they’re not airing this evening, and the drama unfolding in the Dales and Weatherfield over the next few days.

Are Coronation Street and Emmerdale on tonight?

Sadly, Corrie and Emmerdale won’t be airing this evening, and you won’t be able to view the episodes on ITVX or YouTube either.

This is because the Women’s European Qualifier is airing instead. It’s the England vs Spain match, with the kick off at 7pm.

When will Coronation Street and Emmerdale air again?

Fortunately, you won’t have to wait very long for the soaps to hit our screens again, as both Coronation Street and Emmerdale will be back on ITV tomorrow.

It’s the usual schedule as well, with Emmerdale airing at 8pm and then Corrie following afterwards at 8:30pm for half an hour.

It’s been a dramatic start to the week for the residents of Emmerdale. Yesterday, Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) loved ones raced to find a storage unit that belonged to Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths). It took them a little while, but Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) eventually found the right one.

It contained piles and piles of new evidence that DS Walsh (Amanda Ryan) and her team hadn’t discovered.

The group hoped it would be enough to free Moira and stop her from pleading guilty at her hearing, but DS Walsh explained that the police now need to spend time carefully logging all of the new evidence for it to actually stand up in court.

Elsewhere, trouble continues for resident doctor Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), as he discovers his bullying boss Doctor Todd (Caroline Harker) is moving to the village!

In Corrie, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) finally escaped Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) clutches following an attack that left him barely able to hold himself up.

In tomorrow’s episode, Todd will report Theo to the police. In a powerful conversation with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), he details the utter horror he’s faced for almost a year at the hands of his evil partner.
