Daughter of Coronation Street stars, Tina O’Brien and Ryan Thomas, Scarlett Thomas is gearing up to launch her music career, with her mum firmly backing her next steps in the entertainment industry.

17-year-old Scarlett has already shown she inherited her famous parents’ acting chops with a role in Waterloo Road.

She played Izzy Charles, the daughter of Donte, played by her real-life uncle, Adam Thomas, on the BBC school-based soap.

Taking to her Instagram feed, Scarlett uploaded a clip of her pretending to work a Krispy Kreme drive-thru window.

Opening the window, she then opens a box of doughnuts, with the lid emblazoned with the message: ‘ScarlettThomasMusic.com 26.09.26.’, with the post captioned: ‘Come party with me who wants to hear new music link in bio to sign up’.

Proud mum, Tina, hopped into the comment section with a string of heart emojis.

Scarlett previously signed a record deal earlier this year in preparation for her venture into music.

Scarlett took to Instagram with joyous snaps of her signing her deal, while the caption showed her excitement of what’s to come in her new career: ‘Wow what an experience I have had so far, and what an experience I’m about to have, I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity.’

Continuing on about what the moment meant to her, she said: ‘Today was a life-changing moment for me.

‘I’ve been working hard behind the scenes, but I can now finally share it with you all. I can’t wait for what this year brings, hopefully some amazing music.’

Dad Ryan took to Instagram to document the momentous day, with a picture of himself and his daughter outside a restaurant and an older clip of her performing at the same venue when she was just 12 years old.

‘Today is one of the best days of my life. Watching my little girl sign a record deal is a moment I will cherish forever’ he began the caption.

‘The stars were all aligned today. As we turned up at the restaurant to sign the deal Scarlett said “I’ve been here before dad!!” & then we found this video.

‘Stood on the chair in front of all her family singing A Million Dreams & here we are 5 years later making her dream come true.’

Ryan is, of course, beloved by soap fans as Jason Grimshaw, who he played for 16 years between 2000 and 2016, later returning for a short stint to coincide with his on-screen mum, Eileen Grimshaw’s (Sue Cleaver) departure in 2025.

Tina O’Brien has played Sarah Platt on-and-off since 1999, though her alter-ego is currently behind bars for offing vile beast Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), who she bashed over the head and sent falling to his doom after his vicious campaign of abuse against her best friend, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

Sarah tried to conceal her crime with the help of ex-boyfriend-turned-knight-in-shining-armour, Gary Windass (Mikey North), though the Weatherfield police – for once – managed to find their culprit, and Sarah has been facing her own personal hell while banged up in the clink.

On the outside, fiancé Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), with whom Sarah ended things so as not to compromise his carer as a police officer, has been dealing with the revelation that he has stage three breast cancer, and in a twist likely to devastate Sarah, he spent the night with her daughter, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

With Sarah’s trial upcoming, and a potential homecoming on the horizon, will she discover her daughter and ex-love’s ultimate betrayal?

We sure hope so!
